Three arrested for brutally attacking man with weapons in Kanpur Dehat

Three wanted criminals have been arrested by Kanpur Dehat police for a brutal attempted murder case in which the victim was forcibly abducted and attacked with sharp weapons and a pistol butt. The Sikandra police team also recovered the Tata Nexon car used in the crime during the swift operation.

The incident occurred on August 28, 2026, when the victim, Amit Tiwari, a resident of Talwapur, was forcibly dragged into a car by the accused. According to the complaint filed with police, Tiwari was driven to a country liquor shop in Jamoura where the attackers assaulted him with sharp weapons and the butt of a pistol, targeting his head and face. After inflicting serious injuries, the accused threatened to kill him before fleeing the scene. Police registered case number 162/2026 under sections 109(1), 115(2), 191(2), 191(3), and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Acting on specific intelligence from an informer, the police team tracked down and apprehended all three suspects near Mahmoodpur Jhal on August 30, 2026. The arrested individuals are Harshit Yadav alias Gaurav Yadav, son of Vinod, resident of Baliyapur under Mangalpur police station jurisdiction, with four previous criminal cases registered against him; Mani Yadav alias Molu Yadav, son of Taar Babu, also from Baliyapur, with three criminal cases; and Jayneet Katiyar, son of Rajesh Babu, resident of Jamoura under Sikandra police station, with two prior criminal cases.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that the attack stemmed from a verbal altercation. They were jokingly abusing each other when Amit Tiwari, passing by, thought the abuses were directed at him, leading to an argument. The situation escalated and the accused forcibly pulled him into their vehicle and assaulted him. All three accused have been presented before court as legal proceedings continue. The operation was conducted by a team including Sub-Inspector Sushil Chandra, Head Constable Roop Singh, and constables Manish, Sandeep, Pratap, Akash, Ashok, and Satyendra.
