SP steps up security checks across Bahraich ahead of Raksha Bandhan festival

Bahraich Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Srivastava on Friday conducted a foot patrol across the district's key commercial areas and crowded zones to assess security arrangements ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival. The senior officer walked through major markets and busy thoroughfares, interacting with residents and traders to understand their concerns and reassure them of adequate protection during the celebrations.

The SP's inspection route covered several high-footfall locations including the bus station, Peepal Tiraha, Ghanta Ghar, and Cantonment Bazaar. During the patrol, Srivastava directed police officers and personnel to maintain heightened vigilance in crowded areas, ensure effective police patrolling and traffic management, and pay special attention to the safety and security of women and girls. The emphasis on women's security reflects growing concerns about public safety during large gatherings and festive occasions.

The foot patrol also served as a confidence-building exercise, with the SP engaging directly with the public and business community. Srivastava listened to their security-related needs and problems, promising them a safe and harmonious environment for the upcoming festival. The district police have finalized comprehensive security arrangements including deployment of adequate police force to ensure Raksha Bandhan is celebrated peacefully across Bahraich.

The inspection was conducted in the presence of senior police officials including Additional SP City Ayush Vikram Singh, Additional SP Rural Durga Prasad Tiwari, Circle Officer City Narayan Dutt Mishra, Circle Officer Traffic Raj Singh, and in-charge inspectors from Kotwali Nagar and Dargah Sharif police stations along with police personnel. The visible presence of senior leadership on the ground is part of Bahraich Police's strategy to strengthen law and order and instill a sense of security among citizens during the festive period. The district administration aims to maintain peace and communal harmony while facilitating smooth celebrations for residents.
