Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has extended his support to the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and their demands. On Tuesday, Wangchuk shared this information via social media platform X, where he released a video message. Wangchuk added that he would join the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6 if Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign by June 5.
Abhijit Deepak, currently pursuing a master's degree in Public Relations at Boston University, USA, has announced his return to India on June 6. He plans to head directly to the Parliament Street Police Station from the airport to seek permission for the protest. Deepak has urged people to meet him at the airport and participate in the demonstration. Previously, Deepak worked as a social media strategist for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections.
The Supreme Court recently declined an urgent hearing on a plea seeking a CBI investigation into activities linked to the CJP. The bench, led by CJI and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul Pancholi, stated that the matter should not be taken emotionally. The plea alleged that CJP was tarnishing the judiciary's image.
The protest at Jantar Mantar is expected to focus on demands for the resignation of the Education Minister, with Wangchuk and Deepak playing key roles in mobilizing support.
