District Election Officer and District Magistrate Annapurna Garg has directed officials to organise camps in areas with a low EPIC voter population ratio, or EPIC ratio, and ensure that the maximum possible number of eligible voters are added to the electoral roll. She issued the direction during a meeting with the concerned officials at the Collectorate auditorium in Shravasti on October 26, 2026.

Annapurna Garg said the voter-list revision campaign has already begun. The campaign will focus on adding the names of more new voters to the electoral roll. At the same time, the names of voters who have died or shifted their place of residence will be removed from the list.

She said any eligible citizen can become a voter using the statutory identity document prescribed by the Election Commission. All Booth Level Officers, or BLOs, must work with full commitment in the campaign. She made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated.

The District Election Officer said people who are turning 18 years of age or older on January 1, 2022, should get themselves registered immediately. Those who have recently shifted their residence can also update their address.

She directed the concerned officials to organise special camps in educational institutions. Through these camps, the names of young people who have completed 18 years of age or will complete 18 years by the qualifying date should be added through Form-6.

All Booth Level Officers have also been instructed to go from house to house in their respective areas. They must identify eligible citizens whose names have been left out and ensure that their names are included in the voter list.

Annapurna Garg separately directed the concerned Electoral Registration Officers to organise camps in areas where the EPIC ratio is low and add the names of as many voters as possible.

She said that a low EPIC ratio indicates that several eligible citizens in that area, particularly young people in the 18-19 age group, may still be left out of the voter list. The BLOs must therefore ensure that new Form-6 applications are filled in and the eligible applicants are added to the electoral roll.

The District Election Officer appealed to all citizens, especially young people and women, to check their names in the voter list. Those whose names have been left out, or who need to get any correction made, should apply immediately through the online system or contact their BLO.

She said these steps would help make the district’s EPIC ratio 100 per cent and strengthen the electoral roll.

Additional District Magistrate (Finance/Revenue) Lalit Kumar, In-charge Election Office/Sub-Divisional Magistrate Praveen Yadav, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ikauna Ravi Pratap, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bhinga Aashish Bhardwaj and other concerned officials were present at the meeting.
