Rahul Gandhi's Acquittal Celebrated at Congress Rally Preparatory Meeting in Shravasti

A preparation meeting for the upcoming ‘वोट बचाओ, देश बचाओ’ rally was held at the District Congress Office in Bhinga, Shravasti, on 26 October 2026, Monday. Congress workers also celebrated Rahul Gandhi ji being acquitted by the Sultanpur court in a defamation case.

The meeting was organised to prepare for the rally scheduled to be held at Ramlila Maidan on 1 November. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee state general secretary Shri Arshad Khursheed appealed to all Congress office-bearers and workers to attend the rally in large numbers and help make it successful.

State vice-president of the Minority Department Shri Aslam Khursheed was also present at the meeting.

Former MLC candidate Chandrashekhar Azad, district president Vidyamani Tripathi, district vice-president Chandrapal Singh Yadav, district general secretary Advocate Mohammad Aslam, Ehsan Chaudhary, Virendra Kashyap, district secretary Dinesh Mishra, Seva Dal president Shivam Pandey, Minority Department district president Imran Malik, NSUI district president Vishal Dwivedi, district secretary and office in-charge Mohammad Ahmed, and Legal Department district president Advocate Naseem attended the meeting.

All block presidents and other Congress members were also present.

During the meeting, Congress workers expressed happiness over Rahul Gandhi ji being acquitted by the Sultanpur court in the defamation case. The Congress members fed sweets to one another and described the development as a victory for truth and justice.

Minority Department district president Imran Malik said that Rahul Gandhi ji being acquitted by the court was a victory for truth and justice. He said Rahul Gandhi ji had been continuously fighting to protect the Constitution, democracy and the rights of the people.

“Every attempt to silence his voice is against the basic spirit of democracy,” Malik said. He added that every Congress worker stood firmly with Rahul Gandhi ji.

Malik said the ‘वोट बचाओ, देश बचाओ’ campaign was an important campaign to protect democracy and the right to vote. He appealed to all Congress workers to unite, reach out to the people and attend the rally at Ramlila Maidan on 1 November in large numbers.
