Shivamogga to Host Two-Day Industrial Expo, Vendor Development Meet
Two-day Shivamogga expo will showcase local industries and connect MSME units with vendors including Railways, BEL, HAL and Cochin Shipyard.
Local industrial units will have an opportunity to display their products and technical capabilities at a two-day Industrial Expo-2026 and vendor development meet in Machenahalli Industrial Area near Shivamogga.
The Shivamogga-Bhadravathi Industrial Association will organise the event on Wednesday and Thursday in association with the MSME Department and local industries.
Association president Chandrashekhar L. told presspersons in Shivamogga on Monday that the expo would provide local units with a platform to exhibit their products and technical capabilities.
Local industries to meet vendors
Chandrashekhar said around 90 small and medium industries were active in and around Shivamogga.
These industries provide employment to more than 6,000 people, he said.
One of the objectives of the event is to introduce these local units to vendors, according to Chandrashekhar.
The vendors expected to take part include South Western Railway, Bharat Electronics Limited, Rail Wheel Factory, Cochin Shipyard, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC).
The vendor development component will allow the participating units to present their products and technical capabilities before these organisations.
The event will also connect the local industrial base with organisations named by the association as expected participants.
Students can also attend
Young people, particularly students interested in learning about the MSME sector and employment opportunities, can also take part in the event, Chandrashekhar said.
The association has included this participation as part of the expo’s wider engagement with the MSME sector and local employment opportunities.
Three industrialists will also be felicitated with the title “Kaigarika Rathna”.
They are S. Rudre Gowda, former MLC and head of the Shantala Group of Companies; Y.V. Madhukar Jois of the Malnad Group of Companies; and H.G. Ramaprasad, Managing Director of Pearlite Liner Private Limited.
