SDM warns of strict action against rumor-mongers ahead of festivals in Bahraich

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Monalisa Jauhari has issued strict directives against rumor-mongers and troublemakers ahead of upcoming festivals in Bahraich, warning that stern action will be taken against anyone attempting to disturb communal harmony in the district. The orders came during peace committee meetings held at Murtiha and Sujauli police station premises, aimed at ensuring peaceful and harmonious celebration of the festivals.

Chairing both meetings, SDM Jauhari emphasized that the upcoming festivals should be celebrated with mutual brotherhood, peace, and harmony. She instructed concerned officials to maintain special vigilance in sensitive areas, continuously monitor law and order, and ensure immediate action on any information received. Police officials, station house officers of both police stations, administrative officers, and prominent citizens from the area attended the meetings.

The SDM made it clear that strict action would be taken against those spreading rumors or attempting to vitiate the atmosphere. Special instructions were issued to monitor misleading and objectionable information being circulated on social media platforms. She directed police and administrative officers to work in coordination to ensure all arrangements are completed on time.

The meetings also discussed essential arrangements during the festivals, including traffic management, cleanliness, electricity, and drinking water supply. SDM Jauhari appealed to area residents to celebrate the festivals with love, peace, and brotherhood, and not to believe in any kind of rumor. The Circle Officer, station house officers, and other administrative officials were present at the meetings.

Prominent citizens and dignitaries who attended both meetings assured the administration of their complete cooperation in maintaining peace and ensuring the festivals are celebrated without incident. The proactive measures underscore the administration's commitment to preventing any communal tension during the festive season.
