Saraswati Institute completes three-day medical education training for faculty excellence

Saraswati Institute of Medical Sciences in Hapur has concluded a comprehensive three-day Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME), an initiative designed to strengthen the teaching, learning and assessment capabilities of medical faculty while promoting excellence in contemporary medical education. The programme was organized with the specific objective of equipping medical educators with the essential skills and frameworks required for the successful implementation of competency-based medical education in modern academic settings.

The Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Saraswati Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) organized this extensive programme to introduce medical educators to modern pedagogical frameworks, innovative teaching-learning methodologies and effective assessment techniques, all of which are essential for the successful implementation of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME). The course was structured to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for transforming medical education delivery.

Throughout the three-day programme, a series of interactive academic sessions, group discussions, practical exercises, participatory activities and reflective learning sessions were conducted to ensure comprehensive learning. Faculty members engaged in detailed study of various aspects of curriculum planning, learner-centred teaching, competency-based education, assessment strategies, constructive feedback and effective classroom and clinical teaching methodologies.
