Sambhal traffic police seize 19 vehicles in major enforcement drive against violations

Traffic police in Sambhal district seized 19 vehicles and removed illegal modifications from dozens of others during a major enforcement drive against overloaded vehicles and traffic violations.

The joint campaign was conducted under the guidance of the Sambhal district Superintendent of Police, along with Circle Officer Traffic Ajit Singh and Traffic In-charge Jagreshan Singh. Acting Traffic In-charge Ashok Kumar led the police team that carried out inspections of pickups, e-rickshaws, tempos and other vehicles throughout the district.

During the operation, 19 vehicles found violating traffic rules were seized by the authorities. Additionally, the enforcement team removed 21 illegally installed footboards and extra seats that had been fitted in tempos and e-rickshaws.

Vehicle drivers were made aware and advised not to operate their vehicles with footboards or additional seats in the future. Meanwhile, enforcement action was taken against 31 vehicles specifically for overloading violations.

In total across Sambhal district, the traffic police took enforcement action against 275 vehicles during the campaign. Fines amounting to 6 lakh 57 thousand 700 rupees were collected from the violators.

Acting Traffic In-charge Ashok Kumar explained that the primary objective of the traffic police is to curb road accidents in the district and to make vehicle drivers aware of traffic regulations. He said that the campaign against vehicles violating the rules will continue on an ongoing basis in the future as well.

The crackdown targeted common violations that contribute to road safety hazards, including overloading of commercial vehicles and unauthorized structural modifications to passenger carriers. The operation reflects the district administration's focus on enforcing transportation safety standards and preventing accidents caused by non-compliant vehicles.
