Samajwadi Party demands urgent fix for Sravasti's crumbling power infrastructure

Samajwadi Party leader Masood Alam Khan has escalated the power crisis gripping Sravasti district, submitting a formal memorandum to the Chief Engineer of Devipatan Mandal demanding immediate action to fix the collapsing electricity infrastructure. Khan, who also serves as the party's national secretary, highlighted the severe hardship faced by residents due to persistent power cuts, burnt transformers, and crumbling transmission lines.

The memorandum detailed multiple critical failures in the district's power supply system. Khan raised concerns about transformers that have been lying non-functional after burning out, leaving entire neighborhoods without electricity for extended periods. He specifically demanded that transformer capacities be increased in overloaded areas where existing equipment is unable to cope with demand. The SP leader also complained about dilapidated power lines that frequently disrupt supply, forcing residents to endure prolonged blackouts.

To address these systemic problems, Khan called for the formation of a special team dedicated to resolving Sravasti's power crisis. He suggested appointing a nodal officer who would be responsible for continuous monitoring of the electricity system, ensuring accountability and swift resolution of complaints. The move comes as residents across the district have grown increasingly frustrated with the unreliable power supply affecting daily life, businesses, and essential services.

Responding to the memorandum, the Chief Engineer assured Khan that a special team would be constituted and prompt action would be taken to address the grievances. However, Khan made it clear that he would continue raising his voice until uninterrupted power supply is restored to the people of Sravasti. The intervention by the senior SP leader has brought renewed attention to the infrastructure deficit that has plagued the district's electricity network, with residents now hoping for tangible improvements in the coming weeks.
