Property dealer in Pratapgarh accused of fraud after refusing to execute land registry deed

A property dealer in Pratapgarh has been accused of fraud after allegedly refusing to execute a registry deed despite completing an agreement for land transfer. The complainants have approached the Superintendent of Police seeking action against the dealer, identified as Mohiuddin, for backing out of the agreed property transaction and collecting money under false pretenses.

The incident pertains to Chalakpur village in the Raniganj tehsil area, where several buyers had entered into an agreement with the property dealer for land purchase. According to the complainants, when the stipulated period of the agreement expired and it was time to execute the formal registry deed, the dealer allegedly refused to complete the transaction. The buyers claim they had already deposited substantial amounts into the dealer's account in the name of land development charges, making the situation more serious.

The matter took a significant turn when a revenue department inquiry allegedly uncovered irregularities and fraudulent practices in the transaction. The complainants assert that the investigation at the revenue level has exposed the dubious nature of the entire deal, strengthening their case against the property dealer. This has prompted them to escalate the matter to police authorities.

The Pratapgarh police have now registered the complaint and initiated an investigation based on the allegations and available documents. Officers are examining the agreement papers, financial transactions, and findings of the revenue inquiry to establish the facts of the case.
