Pratapgarh police give ten scooters to female officers for women's safety patrols

Pratapgarh police took a significant step toward strengthening women's safety, dignity, and empowerment by distributing ten scooters to female police personnel deployed at Mission Shakti centers on August 28, 2026, coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival. Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar handed over the vehicles, acquired through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding, in the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Alok Kumar and Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Brijnanadan Rai.

The scooters are intended to make Mission Shakti centers more active and mobile in their operations across the district. Mission Shakti is a dedicated initiative focused on women's safety and empowerment, and these vehicles will enhance the reach and responsiveness of the teams working under the program. The move is expected to accelerate campaigns aimed at ensuring the security of women and girls throughout Pratapgarh.

Mission Shakti teams and Anti-Romeo squads will now use these scooters to conduct regular patrols and awareness drives at schools, colleges, markets, railway stations, bus stations, and other public places where women and girls are vulnerable to harassment or crime. The vehicles will also enable police teams to respond swiftly to complaints lodged by women and girls, ensuring quicker assistance and action in cases requiring immediate attention.

Superintendent Bhukar emphasized that the safety and security of women and girls remain the top priority for the Pratapgarh police. He directed officers to conduct regular field visits, engage with the public, and take prompt action on all complaints. The initiative reflects the police department's commitment to creating a safer environment for women and empowering them through proactive policing measures supported by enhanced mobility and resources.
