Police arrest one suspect in Pratapgarh vegetable shop knife attack

Police in Pratapgarh have arrested one suspect in connection with a knife attack at a vegetable shop while a second accused remains on the run. The arrest was made by Kotwali Nagar police near the suspect's residence as part of an ongoing crackdown on wanted criminals.

According to police, the incident took place around 10 pm on September 11 when Mohammad Faisal alias Aman was sitting at his vegetable shop with his partner Abdul Kalam. During this time, three individuals arrived at the spot. They have been identified as Mohammad Anas son of Karamat alias Puttan, Parvez son of Munna Jailer, and one unidentified person.

The three suspects allegedly began abusing the shopkeepers and then launched a knife attack. In the assault, Faisal's ear was severed. The attackers also physically assaulted both Faisal and his partner Abdul Kalam. When people from the surrounding area rushed to the scene after hearing the commotion, the accused managed to flee from the spot.

The injured Faisal was referred to Prayagraj for medical treatment following the attack. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar, a campaign has been underway to arrest the wanted accused in the case.

As part of this operation, Kotwali Nagar police have arrested Mohammad Anas son of Karamat alias Puttan, a resident of Vivek Nagar. He was wanted in crime number 547/26 under sections 115(2), 352 and 118(2) of the BNS. Police are continuing their search for the other accused persons involved in the case.
