'If the pressure feels heavy': NTA assures fair conduct of NEET UG Re-exam, opens mental health helpline
As NEET UG 2026 draws near, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has urged candidates to remain calm and focus on their preparation. In a message issued to students, the agency emphasized the importance of trusting their efforts and avoiding distractions caused by rumours or unverified information.
With just three days left for the examination, the NTA confirmed that the test will proceed as scheduled, dismissing speculation about a possible postponement. It advised candidates to rely solely on official communications from the agency to stay informed.
To reassure students, the NTA highlighted that extensive arrangements have been made to ensure a safe, secure, and fair examination process. These measures have been implemented in coordination with relevant ministries, state governments, and security agencies. "The integrity of this process is our highest priority, and robust, multi-layered safeguards have been put in place," the agency stated.
The NTA also warned that any attempts at malpractice would be dealt with firmly to protect the interests of honest candidates. Reflecting on its earlier decision to cancel the exam on May 3 due to paper-leak allegations, the agency reiterated that the move was made solely to uphold fairness for sincere candidates. "The moment a problem was identified, we acted to protect the fairness of the process for every sincere candidate," it added.
