A bhajan evening organised by the Happiness Club in Noida Sector-21 turned into a celebration of togetherness, music and joy for senior women. Bhajan singers performed devotional songs that made everyone present sway to the music, creating an atmosphere where age was not the focus and happiness mattered most.

The Happiness Club is the initiative of Neena Jaggi, a resident of Noida Sector-21. Through this group, she is working to bring colour back into the lives of women who have crossed the age of 60. These are women who, after retirement, had largely become confined to their homes, women whose husbands are no longer alive, or women whose children have settled abroad.
What began as an effort to turn loneliness and emptiness into happiness has now taken the shape of a large family. The group includes women between the ages of 60 and 85.
Neena Jaggi laid the foundation of the ‘Happiness Club’ around nine years ago. At that time, she did not imagine that a small group would grow so quickly. Today, the club has become a large family of more than 100 women.
In this group, every member stands shoulder to shoulder with the others in moments of happiness and sorrow. Neena Jaggi says, “ग्रुप का नाम ‘हैप्पीनेस’ इसलिए रखा गया ताकि हर किसी के चेहरे पर मुस्कान लौट सके।”
The club makes it a point to hold at least two events every month. The women take part enthusiastically in these gatherings, whether it is a cultural programme, a bhajan evening or any other occasion of happiness.
A bhajan evening was also organised at the society club. As devotional songs dedicated to God were sung, the women joined in with full energy and were seen enjoying the moment. The atmosphere was so positive that happiness was clearly visible on every face.
Neena Jaggi’s effort is not limited to entertainment alone. The Happiness Club has become a way of keeping these women connected with one another at a stage of life when many of them feel lonely. It gives them companionship, shared moments and a reason to step out of isolation.
The club has shown that happiness does not depend on age. With a little support and a little enthusiasm, life can become colourful again.
Efforts like the one made by Neena Jaggi stand as an example for society. She has shown that life does not end after retirement. It can be filled again with new relationships, new bonds and new reasons to smile.
