A woman from Dahkhedi village in the Sikeड़ा police station area of Muzaffarnagar district has submitted a complaint to the District Magistrate, alleging that she was cheated of 1.15 lakh rupees on the promise of getting her a house under a government housing scheme. She has also accused the village head and two others of assault, abusive behaviour and threats.

The complainant, identified as Shabana, wife of Gulzar, has named village head Arif, along with Jabir, son of Munna, and Muntazir, son of Hasan, in the complaint.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly took around 1.15 lakh rupees from her in three instalments for constructing a house under the government housing scheme. However, despite a considerable amount of time passing, the house was not built, the woman alleged.

She further stated that when she asked for her money back, the village head allegedly kept delaying the matter and subjected her to verbal abuse. The woman alleged that on the night of 1 October, at around 10 to 11 pm, village head Arif reached her house along with Jabir and Muntazir.

The woman has alleged that the three men behaved indecently with her and assaulted her. She further claimed that when she protested, the accused tore her clothes and humiliated her. She also alleged that her minor daughter was assaulted during the incident.

According to the complaint, the accused threatened to kill her and falsely implicate her in a case when she demanded the return of her money. The woman said that she informed the police by calling 112, after which police reached the spot.

She also alleged that the accused side tried to stop action by describing the matter as a mutual dispute. Citing a threat to her life and property, the woman has requested the District Magistrate to direct Sikeड़ा police station officials to register a report and take legal action.

The allegations are based on the complaint submitted by the woman. They have not been independently verified so far. A byte has been attributed to Sabana, identified as the victim woman. The report is by Anmol Kumar, Muzaffarnagar. Contact: 7078215007.
