Muzaffarnagar police enhance security for Kanwar Yatra and Chehallum 2026

Muzaffarnagar police are stepping up security measures to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Kanwar Yatra in 2026 and the Chehallum observances. Superintendent of Police (City) Amrit Jain inspected the Kanwar Control Room at Shiv Chowk and reviewed the arrangements in place for these events.

During the inspection, SP Jain emphasized the importance of constant vigilance and directed officials to closely monitor all activities along the Kanwar Yatra route, the Chehallum procession path, and other sensitive areas. Surveillance is being strengthened through CCTV cameras, which are actively tracking movements in these locations. Jain instructed officers to remain alert and act promptly on any information that could impact the safety and order of the events.

The Kanwar Yatra, a major annual pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Shiva, attracts millions of devotees, while Chehallum marks a significant day of mourning for the Muslim community. Both events require meticulous planning and coordination to prevent disruptions and maintain communal harmony.
