Muzaffarnagar Girls Allege Molestation, Assault On Families; Case Filed

A molestation and assault complaint involving girl students triggered a commotion in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on 25.09.2026, after the students alleged that a youth harassed them while they were on their way before college.

The incident took place on Friday morning in the town under Budhana Kotwali area. According to the source material, some girl students were going to a temple before heading to college when a Muslim youth, identified as Aaris, allegedly molested them.

The students then called their family members and informed them about what had happened. When the family members reached the spot and objected to the alleged molestation, the accused and his family members allegedly assaulted them as well.

Videos of the commotion and the assault have also gone viral on social media. After receiving information about the incident, local police reached the spot, brought the situation under control and sent the victim students to the police station for questioning. The accused allegedly fled from the spot after the incident.

Senior officials said that a case has been registered on the basis of a named complaint against the accused. They said all those named in the complaint would soon be taken into custody and further action would be taken.

Giving more details, SP Rural Akshay Sanjay Mahadik of Muzaffarnagar said that on 25 September 2026, Budhana police station received information about the matter. He said that when two girls were going to school, a boy named Arish allegedly made obscene gestures at them and harassed them.

In his statement, SP Rural Akshay Sanjay Mahadik said: “आज दिनांक 25 सितम्बर 2026 को थाना बुढ़ाना को एक सूचना प्राप्त हुई। जब दो लड़कियां स्कूल में जा रही थी। तब आरिस नाम के लड़के द्वारा उनके साथ गंदे इशारे करते हुए छेड़खानी हुई थी। इसी क्रम में जब इनके द्वारा जब विरोध किया गया। तब आरिश की जो बहन ने ,उनके परिवार के कुछ सदस्य द्वारा उनके साथ अभद्र व्यवहार किया गया। इसी क्रम में थाना बुढ़ाना में अभियोग कर सुसंगत धाराओं में अभियोग पंजीकृत किया गया है। और जितने भी लोगों के खिलाफ इन्होंने तहरीर में नाम लिखे हैं, इन सबको हिरासत में लेकर इन सब के ऊपर आगे कार्रवाई की जा रही है।”

According to the police statement, when the girls objected, Arish’s sister and some members of his family allegedly misbehaved with them. A case has been registered at Budhana police station under relevant sections, and police said action is being taken against all those whose names have been written in the complaint.

Sunil Kumar, a family member of one of the victim students, also spoke about the incident. He said the girl goes to college every day and had gone to the temple to bow her head before proceeding. He said the boy’s shop falls on the way.

Sunil Kumar said: “मेरा नाम सुनील कुमार है। सर यह लड़की रोज कॉलेज जाती है। आज मंदिर से गई माथा टेकने की वजह से तो लड़के की दुकान पड़ती है। रस्ते में उसने लड़की को छेड़ा ,उसके बाल पकड़े,उसको खीचा।”

He further said: “लड़के मुस्लिम के है। इस लड़की ने फोन करके अपनी मम्मी को बुलाया। उनके साथ मारपीट की मेरा भाई गया उनके साथ मारपीट की। जिनकी लड़की थी। तीनों लड़की स्टूडेंट है कॉलेज की।”

As per Sunil Kumar’s account, the girl called her mother after the alleged harassment. He alleged that her mother was assaulted, and when his brother went there, he was also assaulted. He said all three girls were college students.

The police have said that the accused fled after the incident, while the victim students were taken to the police station for questioning after the situation was calmed. The matter is being handled by Budhana police station, and officials said those named in the complaint will be taken into custody for further proceedings.
