Motorcycle rider critically injured after hitting temporary divider at under-construction bridge

A motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries after colliding with a temporary tin shed divider at an under-construction bridge on Itwariya Chauraha in Bhinga, Shravasti. The incident has once again highlighted the dangers posed by the incomplete infrastructure to commuters.

Rajesh Verma, a resident of Moharniya under Sonwa police station, was returning to his village from Payarghat when the accident occurred. As he approached Itwariya Chauraha, he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the temporary tin shed divider erected at the half-finished bridge. The impact was so severe that Rajesh fell onto the road and sustained serious injuries.

Local alert citizens who rushed to the spot immediately provided first aid to the injured man and advised him to proceed to the district hospital for further treatment.

Following the incident, local villagers expressed their anger, stating that this incomplete road has become a recurring cause of accidents.

When contacted regarding the matter, senior officials of the concerned construction agency said that the pace of work has been affected due to monsoon rains, preventing timely completion of the construction. They claimed that keeping safety in mind, radium reflectors and warning boards have been installed on the divider so that people slow down and cross the bridge carefully. The remaining work will be completed soon, they assured.
