Missing 12 years, Assam man reunited with family in Banda through Operation Muskaan

Police in Banda district reunited a man with his family after he had been missing for nearly 12 years, bringing an emotional end to a long separation under Operation Muskaan. Mohammad Safiur Rahman, son of Husain Ali from Bongaigaon, Assam, was identified and handed over safely to his relatives on August 30 following days of investigative work by Badausa police.

The case began on August 25 when police conducting routine checks at Fatehganj crossing found a man in a disoriented condition who could not clearly state his name or address. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, officers initiated questioning and employed technical methods to establish his identity. Through patient inquiry and use of modern tools, they traced him to Bongaigaon in Assam.

Police then used video calls and documentary evidence to confirm the man's identity as Mohammad Safiur Rahman and reached out to his family members. The verification process ensured accuracy before the reunion took place. On August 30, Rahman's relatives arrived at Badausa police station, where after completing necessary formalities, he was handed over to them.

The reunion after nearly 12 years brought tears of joy to the family. Relatives expressed deep gratitude to Banda police for their dedication, sensitivity, and professional approach in handling the case.
