The Government Railway Police (GRP) Shamli reunited a missing and distressed boy with his family after finding him at Kandhla railway station on 06-10-2026. The boy was identified as Javed, a fictitious name used in the police note. The action was carried out under Operation Muskaan and the campaign against crime and criminals.

The police operation was conducted under the close supervision of Shri Bevendra Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Railway, Saharanpur Circle. It was led by Shri Pushpendra Kumar, Station House Officer of GRP Shamli.

The campaign is being run under the direction of Shri Prakash D, Director General of Police, Railway; Shri R.K. Bhardwaj, Inspector General of Police, Railway, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; and Shri Ashutosh Shukla (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Railway, Moradabad.

According to the police, on 06-10-2026, Head Constable 639 Sunny Rana was performing platform duty at Kandhla railway station when he noticed a boy who appeared परेशान and frightened. The boy was asked about the reason for his distress.

He identified himself as Javed, a fictitious name, but was unable to provide correct information about his family members or address. During the conversation, he appeared to be behaving abnormally and could not clearly explain where he belonged.

Head Constable 639 Sunny Rana informed the Station House Officer about the matter by telephone. He then tried to calm and reassure the boy and brought him to the GRP police station through an appropriate means.

At the police station, the Station House Officer and Head Constable 639 Sunny Rana again spoke to the boy and tried to collect information from him. However, the boy still could not provide the details properly. The police gave him food and continued efforts to find information about his family.

The Station House Officer then tried to trace the boy’s relatives through social media. After considerable efforts, the police were able to find the family members and called them to the police station.

After some time, the boy’s mother, Smt. Nazma, a resident of Budhana police station, Muzaffarnagar district, and his uncle Ehsan, a resident of the aforesaid police station, reached the station.

Smt. Nazma told the police that her son Javed, a fictitious name, is mentally weak and is undergoing treatment in Delhi. She said that he had lost his way and reached the area, while all the family members had been searching for him since morning.

After completing the necessary action, the police safely handed over the boy to his mother, Smt. Nazma, and his uncle Ehsan. The family members and local citizens highly praised the humane and prompt action taken by GRP Shamli.
