Mirzapur and Gauspur villages celebrate Krishna Janmashtami with grand processions

Devotees in Mirzapur and Gauspur villages celebrated the birth festival of Lord Shri Krishna with immense enthusiasm, devotion and grandeur. A magnificent and divine procession accompanied by drums and music was taken out on this sacred occasion.

The procession started from prominent locations in Mirzapur and Gauspur, passing through various routes of the villages. Enchanting tableaux depicting Kanha captivated everyone's hearts. The entire area resounded with devotion as sky-piercing slogans of 'Haathi Ghoda Paalki, Jai Kanhaiya Laal Ki' and 'Jai Shri Krishna' filled the air.

Devotees welcomed the procession at various points along the route by showering flowers on Kanhaiya. Young men and women danced enthusiastically to devotional songs to the beats of DJ and dhol, throwing coloured powder in the air. Small children dressed as Lord Shri Krishna and Radha Rani remained the centre of attraction throughout.

The Hardatt Nagar Girant police team remained deployed with full alertness during the procession to maintain peace and law and order. A grand aarti was organised at the end of the procession and prasad was distributed to all devotees present. A large number of local residents, elderly people, youth and women participated in this religious event.

According to the organisers, the idol from Gauspur village will be immersed at Bhakhla Ghat, while the idol from Mirzapur village will be immersed in Saryu Canal (Devraniya).
