The accused, identified as Vibhakar Singh Chauhan, son of Alakhniranjan, is a resident of Patori village in Pawai tehsil of Panna district in Madhya Pradesh. A case had been registered against him at Kunda police station under sections 137(2), 87, and 64(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections 5(L), 5(J)(2), and 6 of the POCSO Act. The charges relate to serious offences involving the rape and abduction of a minor.

The arrest operation was conducted under the direction of Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar and supervised by Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Brijnanadan Rai and Circle Officer Kunda Shiv Narayan Vais. The police team that carried out the arrest was led by Inspector-in-charge Arvind Kumar Singh of Kunda police station.
