Man accused of defrauding villager of six lakh rupees for fake SSC job promise

A resident of Muzaffarnagar district has accused a man from his own village of defrauding him of six lakh rupees on the pretext of securing a job in the Staff Selection Commission's Multi-Tasking Staff (SSC/MTS) cadre. The complainant, Kasim son of Yasin, who currently lives in Dehradun, has submitted a formal complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muzaffarnagar demanding that a case be registered against the accused and legal action be initiated.

According to the complaint, Kasim is originally from village Kaserwa under police station Shahpur jurisdiction in Muzaffarnagar district and presently resides at Gorakhpur Tea Estate in Dehradun. The complainant has alleged that Naushad son of Kalu, also a resident of the same village Kaserwa, contacted him after learning that Kasim's son was unemployed. The complainant has stated in his petition that Naushad approached him in May 2024 and claimed to have strong connections in both central and state governments, boasting that he had already secured SSC and Railway jobs for several young people.

The complainant has alleged that on the promise of arranging employment, Naushad collected his son's educational documents, photographs and Aadhaar card and demanded six lakh rupees in return for the service. According to the complaint, the accused party asked Kasim to pay the money and he handed over the amount through different modes in November 2024.

As per the petition submitted to the SSP, Kasim reached village Kaserwa along with his wife Hasima and son Ijtiyaz on 8 November 2024, where he met Naushad, Arif and Famma. The complainant has alleged that he handed over five lakh rupees in cash during this meeting and promised to pay the remaining one lakh rupees within a week. The complaint mentions that money was also given on different dates thereafter.

The complainant has stated that even after several months passed, his son's job did not materialize. Later, the accused gave him an appointment letter, which he took to the concerned office. At the office, the appointment letter was reportedly declared fake. It was only then that the complainant realized he had been cheated.

Kasim has stated in his complaint that he possesses mobile recordings of conversations with the accused, which he can present as evidence before police officials. The complainant submitted his petition to the SSP Muzaffarnagar on 17 September 2026, requesting that Shahpur police station register a report, investigate the matter and take legal action against the accused.

The accused in the case has been identified as Naushad son of Kalu, resident of village Kaserwa under Shahpur police station area. Two other individuals, Arif and Famma, have also been named in the complaint as being present during the cash transaction on 8 November 2024. The complainant's family members, including his wife Hasima and son Ijtiyaz, were witnesses to the meeting where the money was allegedly handed over.

It should be noted that these are allegations of job fraud levelled by the complainant. The veracity of the accusations can only be established after police investigation and action in the matter. The police are yet to register a formal FIR based on the complaint submitted to the senior officer.
