Kiran Bhadana Takes Charge as Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner in Himachal Pradesh

Kiran Bhadana, a 2017-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, took charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur district in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. Before taking up the new responsibility, she was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul-Spiti district.

Completing the railway and four-lane projects under way in the district within the stipulated time will be among her main priorities. The projects will be reviewed regularly, with special attention to coordination with the departments concerned and the timely resolution of obstacles that arise during implementation.

Effective and time-bound implementation of various welfare schemes of the Himachal Pradesh government will also remain a priority. The focus will be on ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of these schemes in a transparent and effective manner.

Regular monitoring of development works and stronger coordination among different departments will also be emphasised. Ensuring the quick resolution of the problems and complaints of the general public will be another important responsibility of the district administration.

Promoting tourism development in Bilaspur will also be part of Kiran Bhadana’s priorities. Special attention will be given to developing the potential of Gobind Sagar Lake and other natural tourist destinations in the district.

The administration will also focus on encouraging water tourism and recreational activities, besides improving tourism facilities. These efforts will help increase employment and self-employment opportunities at the local level and strengthen people’s livelihoods.

Before taking charge in Bilaspur, Kiran Bhadana had served in several important positions in the Himachal Pradesh government. These included the post of Special Secretary, Multipurpose Projects and Power (MPP and Power).

She had also served as Director of the Information and Public Relations Department. In addition, she held the post of Director, Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes, Minorities and Divyangjan Empowerment Department.

Kiran Bhadana has also served as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shimla. She worked as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Salooni and Nadaun as well.

Her experience of working in different departments and administrative positions is expected to support the effective implementation of development works in the district. It will also be important in strengthening public services and ensuring that government schemes reach eligible people.
