Khair police arrest three in ₹24.50 lakh theft case, recover stolen goods

In a major breakthrough, police in Khair, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested three individuals in connection with two high-profile thefts, recovering stolen goods worth ₹24.50 lakh. The operation was carried out jointly by Khair police and the Criminal Intelligence Wing (Dehat), utilizing extensive CCTV footage and technical surveillance.

The recovered items include gold and silver jewellery, ₹1.56 lakh in cash, a Tata Nexon car allegedly purchased using stolen money, an illegal firearm, ammunition, and a knife. The arrests mark a significant success in curbing organized theft in the region.

Authorities revealed that over 150 CCTV cameras were analyzed to trace the suspects, showcasing the role of technology in modern policing. The suspects were reportedly involved in multiple thefts and were operating with precision, making them a challenge to apprehend.

The police have stated that the recovered items will be returned to their rightful owners following legal procedures. The arrests and recovery are expected to bring relief to residents of Khair, who had been distressed by the recent spate of thefts.
