Banda police arrest two within hours of battery theft

In a swift operation, Banda police in Uttar Pradesh arrested two individuals within 12 hours of a reported battery theft. The stolen battery was recovered from their possession, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to Banda Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal, the arrests were made under an ongoing campaign to curb crime and apprehend wanted suspects in the district. The case began on August 12 when Pushpendra, a resident of the Kotwali Dehat area, reported the theft of his tractor battery to the local police station. Acting promptly, the police registered the complaint and formed teams to identify and nab the culprits.

Late on the night of August 12-13, during routine patrol and checks, police received a tip-off from an informant about suspicious activity near the Bundelkhand Expressway in the Kotwali Dehat area. Acting on the information, officers apprehended two suspects and recovered the stolen battery from their possession.

The arrests underscore the efficiency of Banda police in tackling theft cases and ensuring swift justice. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the accused or details of their interrogation. Further investigation is underway to determine whether the suspects are linked to other thefts in the region.
