The ultrasonography machine at New Born Care Centre, care of Lotus Health Care Centre, located in Diamond Colony near Janjeerwala Chauraha in Indore, was sealed on 23 October 2026 for alleged violations of the provisions of the P.C.P.N.D.T. Act.
The action was taken on the instructions of Collector Shivam Verma. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Madhav Prasad Hasani said information was received during an inspection that the centre’s registered doctor, Dr. Zafar Khan, had sold the centre, along with its ultrasonography machine, to another person without permission from the competent authority.
Dr. Hasani said the information regarding the violation of the P.C.P.N.D.T. Act was brought to the notice of Collector Shivam Verma. Following the Collector’s instructions, the sealing action was carried out today at the centre by Dr. Divyani Ahirwar, Zonal Officer, and Mrs. Deepmala Bamne, a member of the supervision team.
The authorities have also directed that notices be issued to the concerned operator and doctor. The action covers the ultrasonography machine at the centre and was carried out in connection with the information received during the inspection regarding its transfer along with the centre without approval from the competent authority.
