India and Nepal plant friendship through joint border cleanup drive

India and Nepal have once again demonstrated the strength of their bilateral ties through a unique initiative on their shared border. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Nepal Police jointly organized a cleanup and afforestation drive titled "Seeds of Friendship" near Border Pillar Number 641 in Shravasti. Personnel from both nations came together to clean the border area and plant saplings, sending a powerful message of cleanliness, environmental conservation, and enduring friendship between the two countries.

The joint exercise saw security personnel from India's 62nd Battalion SSB and Nepal Police working side by side in an unprecedented display of cooperation. The teams removed litter and debris from the border zone, working to restore cleanliness to the surrounding areas. Following the cleanup, both forces participated in a tree plantation drive, symbolizing the growth of mutual trust and collaboration between the neighboring nations.

The initiative was not merely an environmental effort but a strategic step to strengthen the already cordial relationship between India and Nepal. The program underscored the shared commitment of both countries to ecological protection while reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation that have historically defined India-Nepal relations.

Inspector Mukesh Dabral from A Company, Kakardarhi of the 62nd Battalion SSB led the Indian contingent, which included Woman Constable Ankita and other SSB personnel. Nepal Police was represented by Inspector Suresh Koirala from Ilaka Prahari Office Bhagwanpur, ASI Serendra Khatri, and their team.

This joint program at the India-Nepal border sends a clear message that while borders may separate two nations geographically, shared values of environmental stewardship, cleanliness, and friendship unite them. Such initiatives demonstrate that cooperation transcends boundaries when it comes to protecting the planet and nurturing diplomatic goodwill.
