India-Nepal border security meeting enhances vigilance and cooperation

A high-level coordination meeting was held at the India-Nepal international border to strengthen security arrangements and improve vigilance in the region. The meeting, led by Shravasti District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and Commandant of the 62nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Bhinga, focused on enhancing cooperation among various security agencies.

During the visit, officials inspected border pillars and reviewed their maintenance and surrounding security measures. Instructions were issued to ensure better upkeep and monitoring of these critical markers. A symbolic march past was also conducted under the "Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026," where security personnel carried the national flag to the border pillars, promoting patriotism and national unity in the border areas.

At the Suiya border post, trained SSB dogs demonstrated their capabilities in security operations, impressing the attending officials with their discipline and efficiency. In a unique gesture, one of the dogs presented a bouquet to the District Magistrate, earning appreciation from all present.

To enhance surveillance, drone cameras are being deployed for real-time monitoring of sensitive border zones. Combined with the efforts of trained dog squads, these measures aim to curb suspicious activities and ensure swift action against any illegal activities. The meeting also emphasized the importance of information sharing and coordination between agencies to tackle smuggling and other cross-border crimes effectively.

Local residents were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies. The 62nd Battalion of the SSB continues to work tirelessly to promote national unity and awareness while ensuring robust security along the India-Nepal border.
