Railway DG Inaugurates Constable Barracks, Reviews Mission Shakti Measures

The newly constructed constable barracks at the Pratapgarh Police Lines were inaugurated by Railway Director General of Police Prakash D. on Saturday. During the programme, he also reviewed the action being taken by the Railway Police under the Mission Shakti campaign.

Inspector General of Police Ramakrishna Bhardwaj, Superintendent of Police Rohit Mishra and Circle Officer Amit Singh were among the other officers present at the programme.

After cutting the ribbon and formally inaugurating the barracks, Railway DG Prakash D. inspected the premises. He also took stock of the facilities available for the police personnel staying there.

Speaking on the occasion, the Railway DG said that the safety of women at railway stations and in trains was the top priority under Mission Shakti. He directed the officers to conduct intensive checking drives to ensure the security of women passengers.

He also instructed the officials to keep the anti-Romeo team active and ensure wide publicity for helpline numbers. He said this would allow women in need to seek immediate help.

The Railway DG further said that improved residential facilities would boost the morale of the police personnel. According to him, the increase in morale would have a direct impact on their duty and on the success of campaigns such as Mission Shakti.

The review of Railway Police action under the campaign and the inspection of the newly inaugurated barracks were conducted during the same programme at the Pratapgarh Police Lines.
