Police allege collision pretext was used to distract victims

According to police, the suspects followed people believed to be carrying cash, then distracted them by alleging that a collision had occurred and fled with the money when an opportunity arose. Police said that on October 12, a person was walking toward Maliwara Chowk after depositing a cheque at an HDFC Bank branch. Two scooter-borne suspects allegedly used a collision pretext to distract the person and took the cash before fleeing.
