Ghaziabad police to get new 100-bed hostel and barracks facility

The foundation stone for a new police hostel and barracks was laid at Sahibabad police station in Ghaziabad Commissionerate on August 20, 2026. The facility is designed to accommodate 100 male police personnel and forms part of an ongoing renovation programme for police stations and buildings across the commissionerate.

Senior police officials including Keshav Kumar Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner of Police (Headquarters/Crime), Rajkaran Nayyar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order/Traffic), and Dhwal Jaiswal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (City/Trans Hindon) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sahibabad), were present at the ceremony to mark the beginning of construction.

The project aims to provide better and more convenient residential arrangements for police personnel stationed in the area. Officials said the hostel and barracks will be constructed in line with prescribed standards and equipped with modern facilities to ensure comfortable living conditions for the force.

Once construction is completed, the new facility will significantly improve the accommodation infrastructure available to police staff. The initiative is expected to address long-standing housing challenges faced by personnel and contribute to improved working conditions for officers serving in the Ghaziabad Commissionerate.

The development comes as part of a broader effort by the commissionerate to upgrade and modernize police infrastructure across the district. Improved residential facilities are seen as essential for boosting morale and operational efficiency among the police force, particularly in urban areas where housing remains a persistent concern for personnel deployed on duty.
