Four workers killed as stone crusher plant room collapses in Mirzapur

Four workers were killed when a room collapsed at a stone crusher plant in Mirzapur's Ahraura police station area on Saturday. The victims were buried under debris when the single-room structure located near SS Ranjan Stone Plant in Bhagouti Dei suddenly caved in.

All four deceased workers were residents of Sonbhadra district, according to reports. The incident sparked immediate alarm among administrative and police officials once information was received.

Relief and rescue operations were launched promptly, and workers were pulled out after clearing the debris. Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Prakash, DIG Poonam, District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar, and Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik, along with other officials, reached the spot and inspected the site following news of the accident.

Officials conducted an on-site assessment and ordered an investigation into the causes of the incident. The administration has expedited relief and rescue work while investigating facts related to the incident.

Chief Minister has also taken cognizance of the accident in Mirzapur. He expressed deep condolences to the grief-stricken families of the workers who lost their lives in the accident.

The Chief Minister directed officials to immediately reach the spot and accelerate relief and rescue operations. He also instructed them to communicate with the families of the deceased and provide all possible assistance. The Chief Minister wished for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.

The administration is currently investigating the causes of the accident. Following the incident, questions have begun to surface regarding security arrangements and the construction status in the crusher plant area.
