Four from same family drown in Rajasthan kund while attempting rescue

A tragic drowning incident in Rajasthan's Dholpur district has claimed four lives from the same family, leaving the local community in shock. A 23-year-old man and his three sisters died after drowning in a kund, a traditional water reservoir, in Dhondh Birja village on Monday.

According to initial reports, the young man got into difficulty while bathing in the kund and began to drown. In a desperate attempt to save their brother, all three sisters jumped into the water to rescue him. Tragically, none of the four could make it out alive, and all of them drowned in the reservoir.

Local police were alerted immediately after the incident and rushed to the spot. A rescue operation was launched with the assistance of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and professional divers. After a coordinated effort, the bodies of all four victims were retrieved from the kund and brought to the surface.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and police have initiated a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Authorities are examining whether the depth of the kund, lack of safety measures, or other factors contributed to the tragedy.
