Police rescue drowning youth after domestic quarrel in Bulandshahr canal

A youth who jumped into a canal in Bulandshahr district after a domestic quarrel with his mother and under the influence of intoxication was rescued by police in a daring operation that has gone viral on social media.

Police Response Vehicle PRV-8848 reached the spot immediately after receiving information about the incident and launched a rescue operation. The youth, identified as Shailendra son of Jaykishan, a resident of Sanauta in Gulawathi, was seen drowning in the canal.

PRV driver Nitin Yadav jumped into the canal along with a local diver to save the drowning youth. The police personnel pulled out the young man safely after considerable effort and struggle in the water.

The incident at Sanauta in Gulawathi was the result of a dispute between mother and son, following which the intoxicated youth took the extreme step of jumping into the canal. A video of the police rescue operation has gone viral on social media, showing the prompt action taken by the team.

The youth's life could be saved because of the alertness and quick response of PRV-8848, police said.
