Firozabad man arrested with stolen phone and illegal firearm

A man was arrested in Firozabad on charges of possessing a stolen mobile phone and an illegal firearm, police said on Saturday. The accused, identified as Satish Babu, a resident of Bhim Nagar, was apprehended near Nagla Pachiya by the South Police Station team during a routine check based on a tip-off.

According to officials, the arrest was made under a special campaign directed by Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Langhe to curb crime and apprehend offenders. Satish Babu was found in possession of a Vivo Y31 mobile phone, which was linked to a theft case registered under FIR number 820/2026. Additionally, police recovered a 12-bore illegal firearm and one live cartridge from him. Following the recovery, a separate case under the Arms Act (FIR number 826/2026) was registered against the accused.

The arresting team included Inspector Yogendra Pal Singh, Sub-Inspector Pushpendra Kumar, and constables Gajendra Singh and Omkar Singh. The accused has been presented before the court for further legal proceedings.

Police revealed that Satish Babu has a prior criminal record, with cases registered under sections 305 and 317(2) of the BNS Act, as well as under the Arms Act. Authorities stated that efforts to crack down on crime in the region will continue under the ongoing campaign.
