Firozabad jail officials inspect security, facilities after surprise DM, SSP visit

District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Langhe conducted a surprise inspection of the district jail in Firozabad, scrutinising security arrangements, living conditions, and healthcare facilities for inmates. The senior officials visited multiple barracks to assess cleanliness, accommodation standards, and overall security protocols within the correctional facility.

During the inspection, the authorities carried out intensive searches of inmates' belongings to ensure no objectionable materials were present inside the jail premises. The District Magistrate and SSP personally interacted with sick prisoners, enquiring about their well-being and distributing fruits among them. The DM issued strict instructions to jail administration and medical staff to ensure zero tolerance for negligence in treating ill inmates, directing that immediate and adequate medical facilities be provided whenever required.

The inspection team also examined the jail's control room, testing the functioning of CCTV cameras and the surveillance system. District Magistrate Sharma emphasised that security personnel must maintain round-the-clock vigilant monitoring of the jail premises. He made it clear that the administration takes security and basic amenities for prisoners very seriously, warning that lapses at any level will not be tolerated and accountability will be fixed for any security breaches.

SSP Aditya Langhe reinforced that no laxity in jail security arrangements would be acceptable, stressing that continuous surveillance of barracks and the entire premises must be maintained. He directed security personnel to remain fully alert during duty and take immediate action upon detecting any suspicious activity.

Jail Superintendent Amit Chaudhary confirmed that security and discipline within the correctional facility are under constant watch, with CCTV systems monitoring all activities. He assured that all directives issued during the inspection would be implemented effectively to maintain proper standards within the jail.
