Engineers in Shravasti honor late environmentalist with tree plantation drive

Engineers in Shravasti district observed Tree Plantation Resolution Day on Friday at the Public Works Department inspection building, honoring the memory of late environmental engineer Pramod Kumar Acharya who dedicated his life to environmental protection.

The event was organized by the Diploma Engineers Association of the Public Works Department, Shravasti, following directives from the provincial executive committee. Every year on August 22, the day is commemorated across the state to pay tribute to Acharya, who spent his entire career championing environmental causes. Members use the occasion to spread awareness about tree plantation and environmental conservation through collective action and commitment.

Engineer Salil Tripathi, who conducted the proceedings, led a detailed discussion on herbal plants and their importance for environmental preservation. Engineer Neeraj Kumar, presiding over the gathering, spoke about the qualities and benefits of fruit-bearing trees and their role in sustaining ecological balance. Assistant Engineer Rajesh Kumar reminded all attendees of their collective pledge to protect the environment, emphasizing individual responsibility in the larger mission.

The meeting saw participation from several engineers and staff members including Engineer Mahendra Kumar, Engineer Vinod Kumar, and Engineer Praveen Kumar, among others. They shared insights into the life and work of the late Pramod Kumar Acharya, highlighting his tireless efforts and lasting legacy in environmental conservation.
