District Judge inspects Pratapgarh jail, finds some shortcomings in arrangements

District Judge Rajeev Kamal Pandey, Civil Judge/Chief Judicial Magistrate Shambhavi and District Magistrate Abhishek Pandey conducted an inspection of the district jail in Pratapgarh. The sudden arrival of the officials caused a stir in the jail administration.

During the inspection, the District Judge spoke with the inmates lodged in the jail and inquired about their welfare. Information was also gathered regarding the legal representation being provided to the prisoners and about their advocates.

District Judge Rajeev Kamal Pandey stated that a routine inspection of the district jail was carried out. During the visit, most of the arrangements were found to be in order, though some shortcomings also came to light. Instructions have been issued to the concerned officials to rectify the deficiencies at the earliest.

During the inspection, Civil Judge/Chief Judicial Magistrate Shambhavi, Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Alok Kumar Bhati and Jailer Virendra Verma, along with other officials of the jail administration, were present.

The inspection exercise covered various aspects of the jail's functioning and the condition of inmates housed in the facility. The officials reviewed the facilities being provided to the prisoners and assessed the overall management of the correctional institution.
