Congress Launches Sanghatana Srujana Abhiyan to Restructure Yadgir Organisation

The Congress party has begun a district-wide organisational restructuring exercise in Yadgir, with the process extending from frontline units to the district committee.

The initiative, called ‘Sanghatana Srujana Abhiyana’, aims to strengthen the party’s network from the booth level upwards.

Restructuring from booth level to district committee

Addressing a press conference at the Press Club on October 27, District Congress Committee (DCC) President Basareddy Anpur said the restructuring was being carried out under the guidance of the party’s national leadership.

The move follows the appointment of nearly 1,100 district presidents across the country based on reports submitted by observers.

In Yadgir, the exercise will cover frontline units, cell heads, vice-presidents and executive committee members.

The party said appointments would prioritise service to the party, organisational capability and dedication to cadre work.

Political recommendations from influential figures will not take precedence in the selection process, according to the criteria outlined for the appointments.

The Congress also plans to form a ‘mandal’, or unit, for every 10 gram panchayats.

Representation at gram panchayat level

A 15-member committee will be formed under a designated Congress president in every gram panchayat, Mr. Anpur said.

The committees will include representation for women and backward classes, according to the plan.

The structure is intended to take the organisational exercise into local units while maintaining representation within the gram panchayat committees.

Observers to review party activities

Campaign observer Pundaleekarao and co-observer Sreedevi will inspect organisational activities across the district.

Pundaleekarao is scheduled to participate in discussions on party activities on October 29.

He is also scheduled to hold consultative meetings across the Shahapur and Shorapur Assembly constituencies on October 30.

Addressing mediapersons, Pundaleekarao said the initiative marked a shift away from individual-driven politics.

He said the selection of office-bearers would move away from the influence of ministers or legislators in office and adopt a merit-based system focused on active grassroots party workers.

Block Congress President Mallikarjun Eti and DCC Secretary Thimmanna Nayak were also present at the press conference.
