Cobra hunting rats gets trapped in cage, rescued in Shravasti bazaar

A venomous cobra that ventured into Shravasti's bustling Katra Bazaar in search of rats ended up trapped inside a metal rat cage, triggering panic among local traders and residents before forest department officials rescued the snake and released it into the wild.

The dramatic incident unfolded in the busy Katra Bazaar area of Shravasti district when a deadly cobra, drawn by the scent of rats during the night, entered an iron cage that had been set up inside a shop to catch rodents. The moment the snake slithered inside the trap, the cage door slammed shut, turning the hunter into the hunted.

The poisonous cobra remained trapped inside the cage throughout the night, hissing and spreading its hood in an attempt to escape. When local residents and shopkeepers arrived at the market in the morning and spotted the dangerous snake confined inside the cage, terror spread rapidly across the entire area and a large crowd gathered at the spot to witness the frightening spectacle.

The team exercised extreme caution while safely extracting the venomous cobra from the cage and then transported it to a distant, uninhabited forest area where they set it free.
