CM Yogi Set to Inaugurate IBET Expo 2026 in Greater Noida

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to inaugurate the India Bioenergy & Tech Expo (IBET Expo) 2026 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida from August 11 to 13, according to event organisers. The announcement was reaffirmed at a stakeholders' meeting in Lucknow chaired by Uttar Pradesh Energy and Additional Energy Sources Minister A. K. Sharma.

The organisers said the third edition of IBET Expo will bring together government agencies, policymakers, energy companies, technology providers and investors around bioenergy and low-carbon solutions. The event's stated theme is “Advancing Bioenergy Solutions for a Low Carbon World”.

What IBET Expo 2026 will cover

The three-day conference and exhibition is expected to focus on compressed biogas (CBG), ethanol, biodiesel, waste-to-energy, biomass pellets and briquettes, sustainable aviation fuel, bio-mobility, green hydrogen, carbon capture and advanced biomaterials. The brochure also lists financing, incentives, subsidies and carbon credits as areas for discussion.

According to the official event material, the expo will showcase machinery, equipment, technologies, products and services for the bioenergy sector. It is intended to provide a platform for industry stakeholders to explore business opportunities, discuss policy and connect with research institutions, equipment suppliers, producers and investors.

Organisers, partners and expected participation

The third edition is being steered by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) as co-host, in partnership with the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications. The event material lists support from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Ministry of Power and the Department of Biotechnology.

The press material said more than 25 conference sessions, over 120 speakers, at least 150 exhibitors and more than 15,000 business visitors are expected. It also said Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Hardeep Singh Puri and Pralhad Joshi may join the inaugural programme. Why Uttar Pradesh is being positioned as a bioenergy hub

The event brochure presents Uttar Pradesh as a major agricultural state with feedstock available from crop residue, sugar mills, municipal solid waste and used cooking oil. It cites 38 operational compressed-biogas plants and 78 plants under construction in the state, along with ethanol production of 180 crore litres in 2023–24.
