Child dies in viral fever outbreak as health dept fails to respond in Shravasti village

A 6-year-old child has died under suspicious circumstances from fever in Chhedi Purwa hamlet of Shikari village in the Jamuniha area of Shravasti district, where hundreds of residents are now battling a viral fever outbreak.

The village is in the grip of a viral fever epidemic, with hundreds of children, elderly persons and adults falling sick. The steadily rising number of patients has created an atmosphere of panic in the village.

Despite the child's death, no team from the health department has arrived at the scene. Villagers continue to struggle with the illness without any medical examination or testing.

The community health center is located barely 500 meters away from the affected village, yet no health department team has reached the village so far.

Residents have raised demands for a health camp to be organized in the village. They are seeking proper medical examination, treatment and distribution of medicines.

The health department's functioning in response to the fever outbreak has come under question. Villagers are asking when the health department team will finally arrive in their village.
