Bulandshahr criminals given hero's send-off despite police banishment order

Two criminals who were banished from Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh were given a grand send-off with garlands and flowers, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of police action and respect for law. A video that went viral on social media shows the expelled criminals being garlanded by their supporters and showered with flowers immediately after the district banishment order was executed.

The action was carried out under Section 3 (1) of the UP Goonda Control Act in the Syana police station area of Bulandshahr district. Led by station in-charge Ram Narayan Singh, police banished Shabbu Chaudhary alias Shabahat Hussain, a resident of Mohalla Chaudhariyan, for six months and Matloob son of Islam, a resident of Quraishiyan Patti, for three months on orders of the Additional District Magistrate Administration, Bulandshahr. Both accused have multiple cases registered against them including assault, rioting and violations under the SC/ST Act.

The alleged video that surfaced immediately after the banishment shows both accused smiling and laughing. A crowd of supporters can be seen accompanying them, garlanding them and showering flowers as they claim to be sending them off beyond the district boundary.

The viral video has sparked debate among people about how much impact such strict action had on the accused. Some are questioning whether police personnel were present at the spot if the farewell shown in the video took place during the banishment process itself.

Police have not yet officially confirmed the authenticity of the viral video or identified the people visible in it. However, the rapid circulation of the footage has intensified discussion about law and order and the credibility of police action in the district.
