BKU Lokshakti forces Aditya Birla Capital to clear delayed health insurance claims

The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU Lokshakti) successfully pressured Aditya Birla Capital to clear long-pending health insurance claims after staging a protest at the company's Noida office. The intervention came after two policyholders, Rohit Awana, youth vice-president of BKU Lokshakti Noida Mahanagar, and Sandeep Nagar, had their claims delayed for two months and nine months respectively without any satisfactory response from the company despite repeated visits to the office.

Acting on complaints from the affected policyholders, a BKU Lokshakti delegation led by Noida Mahanagar President Harendra Singh and Youth President Rajkumar "Monu" visited the Aditya Birla Capital office in Noida. The team was acting under the direction of National General Secretary Chaudhary BC Pradhan. During the meeting, union representatives held tough negotiations with company officials and issued a stern warning that the organization would launch a full-scale agitation if the claims were not cleared immediately.

Faced with the union's pressure and seriousness, company officials promptly completed the process to approve both pending claims. National General Secretary Chaudhary BC Pradhan condemned the practice of private insurance companies making attractive promises but causing distress to common people by delaying claims. "Hanging a claim for nine months is nothing short of injustice to someone. We will continue to fight as the voice of the helpless, farmers, workers, and youth," he stated.

Pradhan also warned the company management against harassing policyholders in the future, cautioning that the organization would be forced to take to the streets if such practices continued. The delegation included several BKU Lokshakti office bearers including Mahanagar Treasurer Sunil Baisoya, Mahanagar Secretary Mahesh Baisoya, Gram President Rambir Tanwar, and others. The incident highlights the growing frustration with insurance claim delays and the role of grassroots organizations in securing justice for ordinary citizens.
