Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh is witnessing the 25th Sharadotsav at the Baba Nahar Singh Temple in Dhaulara with religious and cultural programmes being organised on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri. For the first time, a Garba dance programme has also been included in the celebrations.
The event is being organised by the Durga Puja Committee Bilaspur to mark the silver jubilee of its Sharadotsav. The 25th edition is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur, with various programmes planned during the festival.
Women are showing particular excitement over the Garba programme. A large number of women are taking part in the three-day Garba dance evening. Dressed in traditional attire, they are enjoying Garba along with Dandiya.
The addition of Garba has further increased the festive atmosphere at the Sharadotsav. The programme is being held at the Baba Nahar Singh Temple premises during the Sharadiya Navratri celebrations.
Durga Puja Committee founder Dr. Mallika Nadda said that a three-day Garba dance evening titled ‘शक्ति के संग गरबे की उमंग’ is being organised at the temple as part of the Sharadotsav.
She said the purpose of the programme is to connect the celebrations of Navratri not only with religious faith but also with cultural colours. The Garba event has been included in the Sharadotsav for the first time this year.
Dr. Mallika Nadda also appealed to local people and women to participate in large numbers in the various religious and cultural programmes being organised during the sacred occasion of Navratri.
She further urged people to offer prayers to Maa Durga and seek the blessings of Mata Rani. The Sharadotsav, organised by the Durga Puja Committee Bilaspur, is thus bringing together religious observances and cultural programmes at the Baba Nahar Singh Temple in Dhaulara.
