Banda Police nab two with over 4 kg of illegal cannabis

Banda Police have arrested two individuals with over 4 kilograms of illegal cannabis as part of their ongoing anti-drug campaign, "Operation Eagle." The operation, aimed at curbing drug trafficking in the region, led to the seizure of 4.214 kilograms of dry cannabis from the suspects.

According to the police, the arrests were made on August 12 during routine patrolling and checks. Acting on a tip-off from an informant, the Kamasing police team apprehended Raj, son of Udaybhan, and Aman, son of Rajesh, near the Baberu Road petrol pump at Ingua Mod’s guest house. Upon searching the suspects, the illegal substance was recovered from their possession.

The seized cannabis has been taken into custody, and the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the law. They were later presented in court. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal, who has been actively leading efforts to crack down on drug-related crimes in the district.

This arrest highlights the growing vigilance of the Banda Police in tackling the menace of drug trafficking in the region. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring a drug-free environment and have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to aid their efforts.
