Bahraich taekwondo team wins 18 medals, finishes second at regional championship

The Balrampur Taekwondo Association organized its 15th Regional and 27th District Level Taekwondo Championship in memory of the late Premchand Srivastava, drawing participation from teams across neighboring districts. The Indra Stadium Taekwondo Team from Bahraich district made a strong showing at the competition, with 18 young athletes competing and bringing home an impressive medal haul that secured the team second place overall in the medal tally.

The Bahraich contingent dominated several categories, with 10 athletes winning gold medals. Devanshi Trehan, Manvi Singh, Manya Kaushal, Anjali Singh, Dhandeep Singh, Avni Khare, Rishi Pandey, Anmol Pathak, Atreya Mishra, and Prince Kumar all finished on top of the podium in their respective events. The team's success highlighted the growing strength of taekwondo training in the district.

Five competitors clinched silver medals, including Pushti Kohli, Adishree Singh, Hujaifa, Shaurya Tiwari, and Kaushiki Mishra. Additionally, three athletes secured bronze medals: Shruti Chaurasiya, Shreyas Tripathi, and Aadhvan Mishra. The comprehensive performance across all medal categories demonstrated the depth of talent within the Bahraich team.

The championship, held to commemorate Premchand Srivastava's death anniversary, provided a competitive platform for young martial artists from the region to showcase their skills. The tournament continues to serve as an important annual event in the local taekwondo calendar, promoting the sport and honoring the legacy of the late Srivastava.
