Bahraich police arrest man with 18 pouches of illegal country liquor

Bahraich Police have arrested a suspect with 18 pouches of illegal country liquor in Hardi area. The accused was apprehended near Sadhuwapur culvert on the afternoon of September 3, 2026.

The arrest was made under the supervision of Bahraich Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava as part of an ongoing campaign against crime and criminals. Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Durga Prasad Tiwari and Circle Officer Mahsi Pawan Kumar oversaw the operation, which was led by Station House Officer Hardi Alok Singh.

Police detained Arjun son of Gondaram, resident of Dihwa Dakshin Chandpadiya, police station Hardi, district Bahraich. The accused was found carrying 18 pouches of Jhoom brand country liquor in a polythene bag when he was taken into custody near Sadhuwapur canal culvert at 3:00 pm.

Following the arrest, a case number 295/2026 under Section 60 of the Excise Act has been registered at the local police station and legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.

The arrest was carried out by a police team comprising Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar Singh and Constable Arvind Kumar Prajapati from Hardi police station, Bahraich district. The operation is part of a broader effort to curb illegal liquor trade and execute warrants against wanted criminals in the region.
